THE MINNEGASCO PROJECT DECK
To: Record Label Executives & Radio Music Directors
From: Minnegasco HQ
Subject: The Next Big Thing in Indie Rock is a Defunct Energy Company
The Pitch: Why Minnegasco?
In a crowded indie landscape of sterile bedroom pop and over-polished rock, Minnegasco is the analog friction the culture is craving.
Minnegasco isn't an ordinary band; it's a tongue in cheek music project built on the bones of the defunct Minnesota Gas Company. We are tapping directly into the ultimate indie rock currency: authentic blue-collar irony, mid-century corporate warmth, and deadpan Americana. The music will also push a way to motivate followers to resist immoral government and corporate over reach such as unending wars and government surveillance.
The Tagline: "Soft utilities for hard times."
The Narrative: "We’re the house band for a utility company that doesn’t exist anymore."
Brand Foundation & Sonic Identity
We are taking the rich, bureaucratic visual archive of a mid-century gas company—cookbooks, safety pamphlets, and meter-reader uniforms—and reframing it with fierce tenderness and irony.
-
The Sound: Described as piano based folky, pop with infectious melody lines.
-
The Vibe: Subversive, Irreverent, Sarcastic and Cynical.
Comprehensive Branding & Visual System
Minnegasco comes with a fully realized, turnkey aesthetic ready for music videos, vinyl pressings, and high-margin merch lines.
1. The Color Palette & Typography
-
Safety Orange & Utility Blue: The primary colors of labor, hazard, and infrastructure.
-
Faded Cream & Pilot-Light Blue: The soft, nostalgic tones of mid-century domesticity.
-
Typography: Rigid, mid-century sans-serif (reminiscent of billing statements and service vans) juxtaposed with typewriter font and messy cursive (like handwritten meter-reader notes).
2. Iconography & Assets
-
The Mascot: A stylized, retro pilot-light flame with a mischievous smile, acting as our "Mickey Mouse" across all media.
-
Graphic Textures: Album art and promo materials will utilize vintage schematics, gas coupons, mid-century clip art, and meter dials.
