Foreword: We all read history and learned that the US was a country built as a "boiling pot" of immigrants, mainly oppressed in Europe. "Give me your tired, your poor..." Right?
Ellis Island, right?
Not really. It's almost impossible to immigrate to the US (it takes over 5 years) compared to just walking over the southern border.
Formal US refugee policy has always favored Europeans fleeing communism, not refugees from Latin America "fleeing aggressive US Foreign Policy caused problems."
Problems such as poverty caused by the US propping up rigged foreign trade to favor US corporate interests. US policy in Latin America leads to poor distribution of resources valued by society, such as wealth, power, and prestige. In every case, the US military is on the side of corporate elites or installing regimes that won't allow just land reform (for example)
Germany, England, and Northern Europe had large quotas compared to Greece, Italy (Southern Europe)
Sanctuary cities, counties, and states.
Currently their is this insane fury over mainstream shit media showing video of what they are calling a "border crisis" (Never let a good crisis go to waste right?) This is stoking the cultural wars and remember cultural wars are designed to keep US villagers distracted from the real problem. The real problem being that the US government is intentionally manufacturing problems to keep things rigged. Examples being engineered Disease protocols, fake infrastructure projects, war projects that profit war profiteers and US politicians that get funded directly and through their illegal stock market trades. US southern border policy has been vague for 100s of years and this is intentional.
We use the migrant labor for farm work, construction, hotel maids and other service industry jobs but then these workers are denied basic things like workers compensation benefits.
Allegedly there are designated cities, counties, and states that have laws, ordinances, regulations, resolutions, policies, or other practices that obstruct immigration enforcement and shield criminals from ICE — either by refusing to or prohibiting agencies from complying with ICE detainers, imposing unreasonable conditions on detainer acceptance, denying ICE access to interview incarcerated aliens, or otherwise impeding communication or information exchanges between their personnel and federal immigration officers.
A detainer is the primary tool used by ICE to gain custody of criminal aliens for deportation. It is a notice to another law enforcement agency that ICE intends to assume custody of an alien and includes information on the alien's previous criminal history, immigration violations, and potential threat to public safety or security.

Is Pittsburgh a Sanctuary City?
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is not officially designated as a sanctuary city. While Pittsburgh has implemented certain policies aimed at protecting immigrants, such as the Welcoming City Ordinance, it does not have a formal sanctuary city status.
The Welcoming City Ordinance, enacted in 2014, limits the extent to which city employees can inquire about an individual's immigration status or cooperate with federal immigration enforcement. The ordinance aims to foster trust and cooperation between local law enforcement and immigrant communities.
It's important to note that sanctuary city policies can evolve over time, and new developments may have occurred since my last update. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, I recommend consulting official sources or local government websites regarding Pittsburgh's current policies on immigration and cooperation with federal immigration authorities.
What is a sanctuary city again?
Sanctuary cities in the United States generally have policies in place that limit cooperation between local law enforcement and federal immigration authorities.
These policies are intended to create a safe environment for undocumented immigrants by reducing their fear of deportation and encouraging them to report crimes and engage with local government services.
However, it's important to note that sanctuary cities' specific policies and practices can vary. While these cities may limit their cooperation with immigration authorities, it doesn't mean that they prevent entirely deportations or offer absolute protection to undocumented immigrants.
In the context of the southern border, sanctuary cities may still comply with federal immigration enforcement in cases where an individual has committed a serious crime or if there is a judicial warrant. The primary focus of these cities is often on maintaining public safety and ensuring that local law enforcement resources are used effectively.
It's also worth mentioning that immigration enforcement falls under the jurisdiction of the federal government, specifically US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). While sanctuary cities may limit their cooperation, they cannot wholly override federal immigration laws or prevent deportations authorized by federal authorities.
