Sara Innamorato won the race for county executive of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, on May 16, 2023. Guessing all those negative ads having her snoring and asleep while representing Pittsburgh backfired big time and let's see if the big loser John Weinstein will at least pick up all his campaign signs littering Pittsburgh.

Sara defeated John Weinstein, the Allegheny County Treasurer, by a margin of 55% to 45%. Innamorato is a progressive Democrat who has served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives since 2018. She is the first woman to be elected county executive of Allegheny County.

Innamorato's victory is a sign of the growing strength of the progressive movement in Pennsylvania. She ran on a platform of expanding access to healthcare, investing in public education, and addressing the climate crisis. Her victory is a rebuke to the more moderate wing of the Democratic Party, which has been criticized for not doing enough to address the needs of working families.

Innamorato's victory is also a sign of the changing demographics of Allegheny County. The county is becoming more diverse, and Innamorato's campaign was able to mobilize a large number of young voters and voters of color. Her victory is a sign that the Democratic Party is becoming more inclusive and that it is winning over the support of new voters.

Innamorato's victory is a historic moment for Allegheny County and for Pennsylvania. She is the first woman to be elected county executive of Allegheny County, and she is a progressive Democrat who is committed to fighting for the needs of working families. Her victory is a sign of the growing strength of the progressive movement in Pennsylvania and of the changing demographics of the state.
