Before we get into the specifics about a wellness spa in Pittsburgh (Bridgeville) named Float Goats it would be smart to provide an overview explaining Float Therapy aka Sensory Deprivation Therapy.
Sensory deprivation therapy, also known as float therapy, involves lying effortlessly in a pod or tank filled with skin-temperature water and a high concentration of Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate), allowing you to float weightlessly. The tank is dark and quiet, removing light, sound, and gravity-related pressure—creating a deeply calming environment for the nervous system.
This sensory reduction helps the body and mind shift into a deeply relaxed state. Benefits may include reduced stress and anxiety, decreased muscle and joint pain, improved sleep quality, faster physical recovery, enhanced creativity, and increased mental clarity. Many people report feeling refreshed, recharged, and more focused after floating. Local Float Tank Wellness Center Float Goats is a wellness center in Bridgeville, PA, offering sensory deprivation therapy, infrared sauna sessions, and cold plunges and other related services.

BOP : Many workers today experience significant stress and pain, both emotionally and physically. What services do you offer to help address this widespread issue in our community?
FG: That question hits the nail on the head when it comes to what our wellness is all about. Every service we offer is designed to help alleviate stress and fatigue while also reducing aches and pains through the elimination of inflammation. Also, we like to believe that our machines help to adjust perspectives to favor happiness and peace of mind. Our place provides an incredibly unique and enjoyable journey to healing.
BOP: What inspired you to choose this location, and what led you to dedicate yourselves to improving the quality of life here in Pittsburgh?
FG: I grew up in the South Hills. All of my family and friends live in the South Hills. The community here is incredibly warm and welcoming. I am biased, of course, but the people here seem to be ahead of the curve when it comes to community, fitness, and striving to be the best possible versions of themselves day-in-and-day-out. For themselves and for others, which is the way a true community should be. I would not want to have this business anywhere else. I love where we are and we will be here for a very long time. BOP: Can you share any feedback from customers about how they felt before and after completing their treatment regimens?
FG: Our reviews say it all! People are finding lasting relief without medication or annoying doctor`s appointments. I am very grateful for every customer that comes in, but for some customers their experiences have been life changing! Those are the clients that I am the most grateful for. Floating in particular has changed my life for the better in so many ways. When someone experiences that, to me, it is the most heartwarming feeling in the world. Knowing that I have played a small part in another person`s healing journey is proving to be very rewarding time and time again. I feel an overwhelming sense of joy every time. The feeling never seems to get old and I have to say that I love it.
